Music composed by Yours Truly

Long ago I gave up dreams of finding fame and fortune as a composer. But thanks to the Internet, at least I can share. From time to time I’ll load some of my favorites on this page. Click on the arrows in the left-hand column to play. I hope someone enjoys them.

"Hope" I started writing this in summer of 2007, completed it in February 2010

“You’re All I Have” Written for my late wife Paula, a few years before she passed away. That’s us in 1978. Even then people were giving me guff about going bald. Look how far I’ve come since.

“Basil Drinks Himself Blue” Blues tune written in 1994 or so

“Faeries” A feeble nod to Tchaikovsky waltzes, written just for fun in 2008

“Boogie with the Devil” Fun and fast, written January, 2010

“Calm, Calm” Romance-lullaby written in 2008 for someone dear

“Big Deal” Blues tune written in 2008 for fun

“Evening Rain” Composed, surprisingly enough, one evening when it happened to be raining. I wrote this one, at age 16, for my first love. Since she lived a considerable distance away, four years would pass before I would have the chance to play it for her in person. Apologies for the quick and dirty performance in this recording.

“Kathleen” Short jazz waltz written at age 20

"Little C Minor Concerto" — Written some 20 years ago. Not the best arrangement, but still fun. Recorded using an old Kurzweil K250, the original digital sampler. My excuse for the thin arrangement is the fact that I was limited to 12-note polyphony. So much for excuses. I hope you like it.
